Trinkets
S - Mad Queen’s Mandate - This trinket is extremely strong for pure single target damage. Its damage increases the lower health the target becomes. If you value damage it’s likely this trinket is your best option, particularly in raids or encounters with damage amplifications.
A - Ovi’nax’s Mercurial Egg - This trinket provides a large amount of secondary and mainstat. The way it works is when you move, you gain stacks of Incubation that provide secondary stats. When you stand still, you gain stacks of incubation that provide primary stat. You can only ever have 30 stacks total, and when you’re gaining one, you are losing the other. It’s quite a simple stat stick despite sounding complicated.
A - Swarmlord’s Authority - This is the only really notable tank trinket of the first season of The War Within. It’s an on use with a 1 minute cooldown that provides a decent shield that builds up. The damage it does is minimal, I’d only recommend this for Mythic Plus if you require a defensive trinket.
A - Ara-kara Sac Brood - This trinket is decent, it provides you a chunk of mainstat with a minor damage proc.
A - Mark of Khardros - A simple 1:30 on use trinket that lines up with all our important cooldowns, providing a large amount of mastery to buff our damage.
A - Skarmorak Shard - Another 1:30 trinket that lines up with our cooldowns perfectly. Provides a large amount of mastery.
B - Void Pactstone - A simple damage and stat proc. One of the better options available to use, particularly from Mythic+.
B - Spare Meat Hook - Does decent damage and that’s about it.
B - Sikran’s Endless Arsenal - This trinket is an interesting one. It has 3 different on-use effects that it rotates between, which all are just differing damage effects.
B - Foul Behemoth’s Chelicera - This trinket is supposed to be a tank option, however the defensive portion is underwhelmingly weak and it’s solely the damaging effect that makes this enticing.
C - Treacherous Transmitter - Currently doesn’t provide very much main stat, however it lines up perfectly with our cooldowns.
C - Refracting Aggression Module - A very weird purely defensive tank trinket. You get an absorb shield when you taunt, with a 1 minute internal cooldown. It’s not particularly great in any scenario.
C - Ceaseless Swarmgland - It’s defensive benefits aren’t notable and it’s damage is mediocre.
D - Skyterror’s Corrosive Organ - A mediocre purely offensive damaging trinket.
Embellishments
Currently Embellishments are fairly under-tuned and don’t provide a ton of value, although the following are the most notable for Protection Warrior in my opinion:
Darkmoon Sigil: Ascension - A random secondary stat proc that stacks.
Elemental Focusing Lens - Your spells and abilities have a chance to deal bonus magic damage, this is a simple proc of extra damage and it adds up to a decent amount, particularly single target
Duskthread Lining - This needs to be put on a crafted armor piece. It provides you with extra versatility above 80% health. It’s not ideal as a tank but our options are limited.
Sanctified Steps - This is one of the 2 plate embellishment specific pieces available for us to use as Protection Warriors. It’s not great.
Beledar’s Bulwark - Taking damage has a chance to grant you Versatility for 15 seconds, which you can split with an ally by moving near them. It’s one of our best embellishments but it’s overshadowed by the special effect shield from raid.
